Access to affordable, nutritious food is one of the biggest challenges families face as costs continue to rise. Last year, one in three people told Colorado Health Foundation that they felt concerned they wouldn’t always be able to afford food. In the same year, Mile High United Way’s 211 Help Center connected more than 2,300 people to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. While no single organization can solve food insecurity alone, The Joan Leprino Community Corner will help families access nutritious food and connect them to additional resources that support long-term stability.

Mile High United Way connected 133 families to the critical toddler and child care supplies they need to care for their little ones at the Women United Village on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The event provides families with critical items they may otherwise struggle to afford, including car seats, strollers, diapers and pull-ups, wipes and more.

Mile High United Way raised more than $540,000 at its 27th Annual Women United Luncheon, held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center. Proceeds from the event will support critical programs that empower women and girls across Metro Denver, including access to stable housing, career pathways and high-quality child care.
