Three Community Leaders Also Join the Board of Trustees 

DENVER – Mile High United Way is thrilled to announce Damon O. Barry as the incoming chair of the organization’s Board of Trustees. Barry is the Office Managing Partner of Ballard Spahr’s Denver and Boulder offices and a member of the firm’s Senior Leadership Team. He succeeds Neil Oberfeld, a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and a longtime supporter of Mile High United Way who served as chair from July 2024 to June 2026 and will remain on the Board of Trustees. 

“It has been a true privilege to work alongside Neil Oberfeld. He is an incredible advocate for families in our community and has brought a wealth of energy and expertise to the board,” said Christine Benero, Mile High United Way president and CEO. “I’m also thrilled to welcome Damon O. Barry as our new Board Chair. With so many new initiatives on the horizon this year, his insight, leadership, and deep community roots will be a tremendous asset as we dive into an exciting and challenging year ahead.” 

“I’m honored to be stepping into the role of Chairman of the Board at Mile High United Way. I look forward to working alongside this talented group of community leaders and contributing to the critical work ahead in supporting our community,” said Barry. 

The officers joining Barry are Vice Chair Tatiana Arguello from Telemundo Colorado and Telemundo Utah, NBCUniversal Local Division; Secretary Kathy Ambrose, community leader; and Treasurer Ethan Rojhani from Grant Thornton. 

“I’m honored to welcome three new board members to our Board of Trustees this year,” said Christine Benero, Mile High United Way president and CEO. “I look forward to working alongside them and drawing on the fresh perspectives and experience they bring to the table. Their enthusiasm for our work and readiness to dive in couldn’t come at a better time.”  

The Board of Trustees is responsible for stewarding Mile High United Way’s financial and programmatic goals to advance the organization’s four community priorities: basic needs, early childcare and education, safe and stable housing and financial security.  

The new Trustees are:

• Steph Chichester, North Slope Capital Advisors 

• Kristin Lentz, Davis Graham LLP
