Mile High United Way Announces 2022 Community Champions Award Recipients

For Immediate Release – Mile High United Way is pleased to announce the 2022 Community Champions award winners. The Community Champions awards recognize Mile High United Way’s corporate partners for their outstanding contributions and service to Mile High United Way and the Metro Denver community.

 

This year’s winners include:

  • Champion of Hope Award: Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP
  • Spirit of Hope Award: PDC Energy, Inc.
  • Partner in Service Award: BKD LLP
  • Social Impact Award: FirstBank
  • Brian Smith MVP in a Mile High United Way Employee Giving Campaign: Nicole Brown, Lockton
  • Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and Community United Partner: Xcel Energy

 

These honors are presented as Mile High United Way celebrates our 135th anniversary as the first United Way in the world. Founded in Denver in 1887, Mile High United Way serves a seven-county footprint focusing on three interconnected community priorities: giving all children a strong start, supporting education and academic success, and creating economic opportunity for all.

The Champion of Hope Award is the highest tribute for corporate community involvement for established workplace campaigns.

 

The Spirit of Hope Award is the highest tribute for corporate community involvement for a new or refreshed partnership. These awards honor companies that have run outstanding workplace campaigns, and also demonstrated their commitment to the community in a comprehensive and tangible way through their partnership with Mile High United Way.

 

The Partner in Service Award honors outstanding achievement in activating a workforce to create hands-on impact in our community. This award celebrates large one-time days of service, ongoing volunteer engagement throughout the year, or new volunteer projects that align with company goals.

 

The Social Impact Award recognizes a corporate partner that has embraced corporate social responsibility as part of their community engagement and business strategies. FirstBank engages with Mile High United Way year-round to inspire employees to give, volunteer, advocate, and lead.

 

The Brian Smith MVP in a Mile High United Way Employee Giving Campaign celebrates an individual in a campaign who embodies the spirit of philanthropy by volunteering, supporting campaign and community efforts, and going above and beyond to affect positive change.

 

The Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and Community United Partner is presented to companies which have demonstrated decades of service to Mile High United Way and our community. As our Community United Partner, Xcel Energy is recognized for their incredible investments as our top corporate partner and for their longstanding collaboration with Mile High United Way.
