As Vice President of Community Impact and Strategy, Karla will provide strategic direction for the programs and investments that support Mile High United Way’s four community impact goals and vision for improving outcomes for the children, youth, individuals and families in Metro Denver.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Karla to the Mile High United Way family. She not only brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, but also an incredible passion for community service and creating opportunities for everyone in Colorado,” says Christine Benero, President and CEO of Mile High United Way.

Prior to joining Mile High United Way, Karla was a Program Analyst with the USDA Food & Nutrition Services SNAP Employment and Training Program. In this role, she was instrumental in building programs for the Mountain Plains Region that assist members of SNAP households in gaining skills, training, work or experience that increase ability to obtain regular employment at a livable wage. Hickenlooper, as well as Division Director for the City & County of Denver’s Office of Community Impact.

“I have long admired Mile High United Way for the tremendous impact this organization makes on our Denver Metro community. I couldn’t be more excited to join this team and be part such meaningful work, furthering a vision that improves outcomes for Coloradans of all ages,” says Maraccini.

Welcome to the Mile High United Way team, Karla!
