52nd Annual Event Raised $770,000 to Support Metro Denver Families
(DENVER) – Nearly 11,600 runners wobbled before they gobbled at Mile High United Way’s 52nd Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 2025. The event, Denver’s greatest Thanksgiving tradition, raised more than $770,000 to benefit Mile High United Way’s efforts to give all children a strong start, support education and academic success and create economic opportunity for all.
Thanksgiving is the biggest running day of the year for Americans, according to RunSignup, and Mile High United Way’s event is one of the biggest Turkey Trots and 4-mile races in the country.
“Thousands of our closest friends joined Mile High United Way today in giving back to Denver at the 52nd annual Turkey Trot. We are so grateful for the runners, walkers and volunteers who unite to support our community on Thanksgiving Day,” said Christine Benero, Mile High United Way president and CEO.
The Turkey Trot is the biggest annual fundraiser for Mile High United Way, the first United Way in the world. Founded 138 years ago, the organization supports families throughout Metro Denver and works to meet our region’s most pressing needs. Last year, Mile High United Way invested $37.6 million in our community and helped nearly 600,000 people.
Runners dressed as turkeys, cornbread and pats of butter were among the 11,600 participants this year. The number of registrations broke the record of 11,000 set at the 50th race in 2023. More than 250 volunteers also made the event possible.
