Our Work

Homelessness Prevention and Housing Stability

We believe that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home.

In 2024, nearly 10,000 people in the seven-county Metro Denver area were experiencing homelessness, including over 3,100 families.¹ Mile High United Way connects families to a full spectrum of housing resources – from emergency shelter and transitional housing to affordable housing and rental assistance.

Bridging The Gap

We support young people transitioning out of the foster care system, helping them access safe, stable housing through our Bridging the Gap program.

Uptown Apartments

We provide affordable, safe and stable housing to residents, as well as 211 support, at our apartment building in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

Community Investments

Through our community grants, we invest in nonprofit organizations that provide crisis support and help families meet their basic needs.

Growing Dreams and Possibilities

Antoinette left the Colorado foster care system without a home. She entered our Bridging the Gap program where she received a housing voucher and obtained her GED diploma. She’s now enrolled in school to become a dental hygienist, and recently graduated from Bridging the Gap with $30,000 in savings.

"Mile High United Way’s Bridging the Gap program completely changed my entire life. When I first got my apartment, I couldn’t pay any of my bills. Now I work full-time and pay for everything myself."
