Mile High United Way helps individuals and families find stability by connecting them to emergency shelter, rental assistance, eviction prevention, affordable housing and other critical resources. We work to make sure no one has to face a housing crisis alone. When people have a safe, stable place to live, they can focus on what comes next: building a stronger future for themselves and their families.
Rising housing costs, unexpected expenses, eviction and other barriers can make it difficult for our neighbors to find or maintain safe, stable housing. For people already struggling to make ends meet, a missed paycheck, unexpected bill or sudden rent increase can quickly become a housing crisis.
For others, finding stable housing can be especially difficult when transitioning from foster care or experiencing homelessness. When people don’t have stable housing, it becomes harder to stay healthy, maintain employment, support their children’s success and plan for the future.
In 2025, nearly 11,000 people in the seven-county Metro Denver area were experiencing homelessness, including more than 3,200 families. (PIT Count)
