Our Work

Small Business & Workforce Development

Small Businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.

Mile High United Way supports local business owners, helping them stabilize and take the next step in reaching their growth potential. With an emphasis on women- and minority-owned businesses, our programs promote the expansion of quality jobs in Metro Denver while helping owners and their families achieve greater economic resiliency. We believe that when local businesses thrive, the entire neighborhood thrives.

Antonio and Patricia's Story

Antonio and Patricia opened Totally Nutz, a roasted nut franchise, in Jan. 2020. However, the pandemic slowed their fledgling business. They needed support to grow. Last year, they joined our Website Build Initiative and received a redesigned website. They also attended our Thrive Small Business Summit to learn more about marketing their business.

“Having a small business has been very interesting and Mile High United Way has really helped us understand how to make it grow.”
