We reached out to Chris, a Mile High United Way Leadership donor, to see what motivates him to give and volunteer.
1. What has inspired you to be a part of Mile High United Way as a Leadership donor?
I was raised to always give back to the community, whether it is with your time or money, and that is something that has stuck with me. I enjoy spending time helping others, and volunteering is a great way to meet new people.
2. What is your “why” for giving back to the community?
My favorite volunteer activity was probably sorting toys for the Mile High United Way Children’s Holiday Party. The United Way office was full of toys, and a group of us from JE Dunn helped sort the toys and distribute them to be picked out by parents the following day. It was a long evening, but greatly rewarding since we knew how much this would mean to the parents and kids who received them.
3. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I have received is the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want them to treat you.
