Supporting Metro Denver’s Families

It’s summer. It’s time for families to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Summer is a time for kids to enjoy their school break and fill their days with fun. All kids deserve to have some fun in the sun.

That’s why our Bridging the Gap program decided to take its participants and their families to the Denver Zoo to celebrate summer!

Bridging the Gap is a program that provides supportive services to participants ages 18 to 24. Many of these individuals have growing families of their own and, as with any family, there is stress that comes along with being a parent. You want to provide your child with as many opportunities as possible, but it’s not always easy.

For many Bridging the Gap participants, going to the zoo is expensive and something that is simply out of their budget. This is why Bridging the Gap works diligently to provide opportunities, like these, to families in the program.

This day at the Denver Zoo was part of Bridging the Gap’s annual family day. Over 48 adults and 42 children came out to celebrate and enjoy the sunshine together.
