Mile High United Way is proud to announce Catherine Hance, Partner, Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP (DGS), as the 2020-2021 Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Hance will lead a Board of 55 community and business leaders who are committed to Mile High United Way’s mission to fight for the education, health and financial stability of everyone in the Metro Denver, Broomfield, and Boulder communities.
“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as Board Chair for Mile High United Way; the current crises facing our community reinforce the critical role Mile High United Way plays, including operating the 2-1-1 Help Center and serving as the steward of the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the State of Colorado,” said Catherine Hance, Mile High United Way’s Chair. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with Christine Benero, Mile High United Way President and CEO, and the entire Mile High United Way organization as it works to enable every member of our community to have the opportunity to succeed.”
Hance succeeds Vernon Irvin, who served as Chair since 2018. Irvin will continue to serve as a Trustee on the Mile High United Way Board. Additionally, Mile High United Way will welcome 8 new members including: Kathy Ambrose (Community Leader), Timi Aguilar (President and CEO, Aguilar Public Relations), Doug Dell (Senior Vice President and Relationship Team Leader, KeyBank), Helen Drexler (President and CEO, Delta Dental of Colorado), Steve Lake (Managing Member, Lake Advisors, LLC), Kevin Patterson (Chief Executive Officer, Connect for Health Colorado), Patrina Pettry (Consumer and Business Banking Market Leader, US Bank), and Mike Ramseier (Regional President, Kaiser Permanente Colorado). Mile High United Way has also named Carlos Pacheco (CEO, Premiere Members Credit Union) as Vice Chair, Neil Oberfeld (Shareholder, Greenberg Traurig, LLP) as Secretary, and welcomes returning Treasurer Deb Smith (Retired, Deloitte).
“We are incredibly honored to have Catherine as our incoming board chair,” said Mile High United Way President and CEO Christine Benero. “Her leadership and commitment to our community are simply extraordinary. We are grateful for Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP’s vital support over the years and know that we will accomplish great things with Catherine in this role.”
DGS has partnered with Mile High United Way since the 1980s. In celebration of the firm’s centenary in 2015, DGS held a “Year of 100 Good Deeds” campaign and named the organization as one of the initiative’s key beneficiaries. More recently, DGS was one of the initial corporate sponsors for Mile High United Way’s United for Families capital campaign. DGS recognizes that when the community joins together around a common objective, it is possible to change lives for the better, forever.
