Mile High United Way Honors Corporate Partners as Community Champions

Mile High United Way announced today they honored ten corporate partners and two individuals with the prestigious Community Champions award. The awards were presented on March 22 to the selected corporate partners at an awards ceremony hosted at Mile High United Way. The celebration honors corporate partners and individuals  for their exceptional philanthropic investment  and commitment to the community through their partnership with Mile High United Way.

“The Community Champions Celebration honors Metro Denver companies and individuals who demonstrate that investing in the community is good business. We are thrilled to recognize these companies who have gone above and beyond for our community. This is what a community United looks like.” said Christine Benero, President and CEO of Mile High United Way.

Mile High United Way works with more than 800 companies in Metro Denver to raise nearly $22 million annually through corporate and individual giving to fight for the education, health, and financial stability for every person in Metro Denver.

“We know it takes all of us—businesses and nonprofits—coming together to solve our community’s biggest challenges, and the companies being honored have raised their hands and demonstrated their unwavering commitment to our community.” said Christine Benero, President and CEO of Mile High United Way.

This year’s Community Champions are:

Champion of Hope Award: Awarded to companies (small, medium and large) for outstanding workplace campaigns and demonstrating commitment to the community in collaboration with Mile High United Way.

Small Sized Company 2018 Winner: JE Dunn

Medium Sized Company 2018 Winner: EY

Large Sized Company 2018 Winner: MolsonCoors, MillerCoors and Coors Distributing Company

Spirit of Hope Award: Awarded to a new corporate partner for demonstrating their dedication to our community in collaboration with Mile High United Way.

2018 Winner: BAND-IT

Best Digital Activation: Awarded to a company that effectively utilized social media, online giving, or mobile giving to engage employees.

2018 Winner: National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Best Video: Awarded to a company for using video to creatively engage employees or drive community engagement.

2018 Winner: Lockton Companies

Best Social Service Initiative: Awarded to a company for successful volunteer engagement.

2018 Winner: Alliance Data

Best Giving Theme: Awarded to a company for creating an outstanding campaign theme that fosters community engagement.

2018 Winner: Delta Dental of Colorado

Best Employee Activated Corporate Donation Award: Awarded to a company that implemented an innovative program that incorporates a linkage between an employee’s actions and a corporate donation

2018 Winner: Deloitte

Lifetime Achievement Award: Awarded for their outstanding commitment to Mile High United Way and our community.

2018 Winner: Xcel Energy

Brian Smith MVP in a Mile High United Way Employee Giving Campaign: Awarded to an outstanding individual in a campaign who champions a cause, inspires team members, and has a passion to give back.

2018 Winner: Brian Smith, Anadarko

Speaker of the Year: Awarded to an outstanding nonprofit partner who has spent hours on the campaign trail with us, sharing their work and the work of Mile High United Way.
