As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor Five Points as a reminder that Black history is local, living and still influencing Denver’s rhythm today.

Dalia was one of five 211 Help Center staff who last year traveled outside Metro Denver in our new mobile 211 unit to provide in-person support following major storms and flooding. Patty Ramos and Claudia Cervantes joined Dalia in Southwest Colorado, assisting families affected by flooding in LaPlata and Archuleta counties.

What gives you hope and brings you joy? For me, it is my little one, my Levi. He is my light, and I love seeing his eyes light up when he knows the answer to a question or learns a new word. But it wasn’t always this way.

After watching Christina embark on her small business journey, Aden was inspired to create her own company. “I’ve learned resilience from my mom,” Aden said. “Even when she has a hard or stressful day, she always says, ‘I’m going to do this,’ and then she does.”

During the 2026 tax season, Alex will join more than 500 other community volunteers with Mile High United Way’s Tax Help Colorado program to prepare taxes for thousands of Coloradans.
