Every day, volunteers bring Mile High United Way’s mission to life. From building early learning kits to helping families shop for the holidays – volunteers are the heartbeat of our work.
As the seasons change, we invite you to engage with our work to help families thrive:

Run or volunteer at the 52nd annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot
Join Mile High United Way in creating change in our community by volunteering or trotting at Denver’s greatest Thanksgiving tradition! Register now to join the 2025 Turkey Trot.

Donate Thanksgiving Baskets for Families
This year, you can help us provide more than 400 families with a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Now through Nov. 7, we invite you to donate items or make a monetary gift to support local families.

Run a Toy Drive for Our Children’s Holiday Party
Each year, we create holiday magic for children and families at our annual Children’s Holiday Party. Kids enjoy games, crafts and photos with Santa Claus while their parents visit our toy shop to choose gifts. You can help make the holidays bright for 1,000 children by running a toy drive, purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist or making a monetary donation!

Volunteer with Tax Help Colorado
Our Tax Help Colorado program provides free, high-quality tax preparation services for Colorado households earning $69,000 or less. Volunteers are the heart of this important work! Anyone can help – no financial or tax background is needed. Join our Volunteer Kickoff on Nov. 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. to learn how you can help our community during the 2026 tax season.

Engage with Our Work through a Kit Build
Kit Builds are a fun, easy way to make an impact in our community with your company or community group. There are many options available, including early learning, hygiene and snack pack kits to support Metro Denver residents. Contact our Volunteer Engagement team to learn more and get started.

Join a Donor Network
Leaders of all ages and backgrounds from across Metro Denver come together through our donor networks to solve the critical issues facing families. We are grateful for the many ways the members of our Tocqueville Society, Women United, Catalyst Society and Family Impact Project support Mile High United Way’s work. We invite you to consider joining a donor group this holiday season to support change in our community.
