Mile High United Way and Foothills United Way join forces to expand regions, ability to serve even more individuals and families

Mile High United Way, serving the Metro Denver region, and Foothills United Way, serving the Boulder/Broomfield region, have agreed to join forces to expand their reach and their ability to serve even more individuals and families. Combined, the counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson will be served by a single United Way.  The transaction is anticipated to be completed on Monday, July 1, 2019.

“We will instantly be able to serve more people, more efficiently,” said Doug Yeiser the current President and CEO of Foothills United Way. “Joining forces with Mile High United Way means that we will be able to have a greater impact which is always at the forefront of our mission.”

After a 30-year career serving the United Way network, Yeiser will retire in May.

“The goal of United Way has always been to collectively serve as many people as possible,” said Christine Benero, President and CEO of Mile High United Way. “This transaction will allow us to better address the issues our communities face, maximize our collective resources, and continue to ensure that community needs are met today and in the future.”

Benero will serve as the President and CEO for the combined operations.

With a longstanding history in the Boulder and Broomfield communities, Foothills United Way is a pillar for the community. Together with their stakeholders, they ensure that individuals and families thrive. Mile High United Way will continue that legacy serving the entire seven county region.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with United Way to serve our communities in Boulder County,” said Jeff Hirota, CEO of Community Foundation Boulder County. “And, we applaud Foothills United Way and Mile High United Way for leveraging their resources to strengthen and expand their reach.”

The mission of United Way is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.
