Community ACTS Fund Announces Call for Advisory Council Members

Denver, Colo. — The Advisory Council of the Community Arts, Culture, Transformation, and Science (ACTS) Fund is currently seeking new members to begin serving in May 2021.

Established in 2018, the Community ACTS Fund Advisory Council is an independent grantmaking committee that oversees the distribution of funds to increase capacity of historically marginalized and under-resourced arts organizations in the seven county Denver Metro region. The Fund is a pooled set of resources from SCFD Tier I organizations and is held and managed by Mile High United Way. Council members meet monthly.

Last year the Community ACTS Fund awarded over $750,000 to 23 arts and culture organizations. The general operating support grants provided support to organizations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interested individuals from the seven-county metro area are invited to submit an application by March 5, 2021. The application can be accessed here: https://tinyurl.com/CommunityACTSCouncil2021

About Community ACTS Fund: The Community ACTS Fund was established to address inequities in funding of Tier III organizations focused on representing and supporting historically marginalized and under-resourced communities. Tier I organizations of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), including the Denver Art Museum (Denver Art Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and Denver Zoo) each contribute $150,000 annually to the Fund to support an ecosystem of smaller, culturally diverse organizations.
